The Courage Process

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.

First of all, I commend you for taking a leap of faith and looking for a way to make sense of and cope with the overwhelming emotions of grief. My name is Dr. Roneisa Matero and I lost my husband in a tragic accident in August 2002.  I raised our two children who were 5 and 7 years old at the time of his death.

I have learned a lot through my struggles with grief and I developed a few coping techniques that have helped me along my journey. I wrote about them in my book – It takes Courage.

If you are here, then you are probably going through one of the most difficult times in your life. You have lost someone very special to you, someone who you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with and grow old together.

Do you find yourself saying these things?

Will the pain and grief ever stop?

What can I do to ease the pain of grief?

How am I going to raise our children alone?

Why did God take my best friend when we were just getting our life started?

I feel so alone and don't have anyone to talk to.

I wish I had someone to talk to who understands what I am going through.

How will I ever learn to live again?
